What I Learned About Launching a Book While Waiting for My Oil Change

I’m two hours from my desk, sitting in a car dealership waiting room surrounded by leather chairs, a surprisingly amazing Jura coffee machine, and a full-body reminder that I’m still learning everything in real time.

And maybe that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be.
Today’s book launch lesson is powered by strong espresso, sustainable snacks, and a two-hour drive soundtrack featuring P!NK, Miley, and whatever else the road asked for. It’s also brought to you by a homemade slice of zucchini bread (thank you, backyard garden) and a full bottle of electrolyte water - because I’m learning that building a life I love includes living long enough to enjoy it.

What I Thought Launching a Book Would Feel Like:

✔️ Strategic ✔️ Empowering ✔️ Rewarding

What It Actually Feels Like:

🔥 Spreadsheet scrambles + sticker debates 🔥 Googling “how to get reviews on Goodreads” from a waiting room 🔥 Designing bookmarks while your car gets a brake inspection 🔥 Juggling Amazon metadata and IngramSpark logins with one bar of Wi-Fi
And yet? I wouldn’t change it.

Real Talk from the Front Seat of My Life

This book launch is stretching me...but not just in business. It’s forcing me to live the very message I wrote about:
Work is part of your life. It’s not the whole damn thing.
So I’m doing it my way.
🌱 I baked that zucchini bread with veggies from the garden my 87-year-old dad planted-again.
🥒 We’re over 100 cucumbers and three full pickings of string beans.
🍅 The tomatoes are coming out my ears.
In between that, I’m writing book blurbs, testing QR codes, and thinking about the kind of launch that feels like me. Connected, clear, and not performative.

What’s Saving Me Right Now

✨ Comfy chairs and a little space to think ✨ Preloaded playlists + off-key highway singing (my steering wheel loves my voice, btw) ✨ The moment I realized this book is the most honest thing I’ve ever written ✨ Every person who’s said, “This landed exactly when I needed it.”

Why I’m Telling You This

Because I want you to see what it really looks like to build something that matters:
  • It’s not always glossy.
  • It’s not always calm.
  • But it’s yours.
And that’s enough.
This book and the bold truth it carries - was built on real moments like this one. I’m living it out loud, mess and all.

PS: If you’ve preordered the book - thank you. You’re part of this wild, zucchini-fueled ride.If you haven’t yet, this is your nudge to grab your copy, leave a review, or share it with a friend.
