Sometimes the best strategies aren’t the ones you start with, but the ones you adjust along the way.

When I first set the launch date for Work Is Not Your Life, I thought September would be perfect: back-to-school energy, post-summer reset, everyone ready to think about what really matters.

But here’s what happened:
  • Progress: The book is here. The workbook is here. Pre-orders opened. The wheels are in motion.
  • Perspective: I listened to readers asking, “Hardcover? Paperback? Just Digital? When can I actually get it?” and I looked at the momentum building.
  • Pivot: Instead of waiting, I decided to move the launch forward. Work Is Not Your Life will officially be available Monday, August 25th. Think of it as a soft launch before the big September celebration.
It’s not about chasing perfection. In fact, not only do I write about the 3 P's above, I write in the book about imperfect action being the thing that keeps us moving forward. This whole publishing process has been a masterclass in that: support tickets, metadata fixes, re-uploading files, waiting on distribution to sync, pulling things off one platform while adding them to another. Nothing smooth, nothing straight — but always progress.
So, here’s the truth:
"I’d rather get this into your hands now than wait for “perfect.”
We’ll still celebrate together in September with the launch party, the client panel, and all the big moments. But August 25th is where the next chapter begins.
Because sometimes the smartest move isn’t following the perfect plan or waiting for the date to appear, it’s knowing when to pivot.
