Events, Energy, and the Pause Button

I’ve been running events again — and I’ve been reminded of the rollercoaster that comes with them.
The highs? Incredible. Seeing faces light up, hearing laughter in the room, celebrating a milestone.
Connection is why we do this work.
The lows? Also real. The energy drain after the adrenaline wears off. The moment you watch the recording back and cringe at your own voice. The messy logistics that take more than you expected. The glasses and clean up.
The Double Truth of Events
Events are powerful. They build momentum, community, and a sense of belonging. But they also cost something — time, energy, presence.
And that’s the integration piece. Running events reminded me that it’s not just about doing the thing. It’s about:
Building in recovery time.
Pausing to reflect before rushing to the next project.
Celebrating the wins, even if the replay makes you want to hide under a blanket.
Pause, Then Proceed
The pause is just as important as the event itself. Without it, the experience blurs into a rush of tasks. With it, the lessons land. The energy regenerates. The next event is evern better.
Events are not about perfection. They’re about connection. And connection always asks for a little energy in exchange.
So yes — events are messy.
They’re also magic. And worth every ounce.
How do you recover your energy after big moments?
